A Preview of Things to Come…
Jonnye Bower is a local photographer here in the DFW area. We had her take some family pictures this weekend and she graciously sent us a few sample shots. There are many more to come, but these were so good I just had to post them.

That's not a sucker, this is a sucker!
The kids really enjoyed our time at Panama City Beach. Here are a few pictures of them enjoying the sand and the sun.

We set up a treasure hunt on the beach for the young scallywags. They all seemed to have a great time. Apparently the best part of the whole thing was that the treasure chest contained some snacks along with the booty.
All that digging is hungry work!

Stawberry Mousse! (and icecream)
Ian's third birthday cake was made from the Toy Story aliens. My favorite part is at the very end when he decides to eat the candle!

We found Ian like this the other day. He apparently passed out mid-play.

Ian's First Gymnastic Review
Ian completed his first set of classes at the local gymnastics school.
He passed with flying colors, and is especially good at:
- Jump to knees on hip height box
- Forward roll onto height

Ian is now officially too big for his tricycle. After some hard decision making, he picked out his new red, 16", bicycle. It only took him about three tries to get things figured out, and he we off to the races.
Update: Ian has now had his first crash. On his way to the park, he could not decide to go left or right. Failing to make a choice, he went off the curb and over the handle bars. He was wearing a helmet but he still managed to get a large bruise just above the eye. Although injured he demanded that he get to finish his ride to the park, which he did!

Visiting the Grandparents
What did we do when we went to Georgetown?
You know, just the usual stuff...
Went for a walk
Played out side
Took a bath
And then had a snack

A snow day in March, score! Ian sure had a blast in the snow. Anabelle, on the other hand, wasn't so sure about her first experience.

The other night we found Ian like this. I sure wish I slept that well. Ah, to be young again...

Ian was certain that he could help us make it through the airport. In fact he managed the carry-on luggage all the way from security to the flight gate (about 150 yards).

Here's Ian eating his first birthday cake. I only wish that I had this kind of passion about food.

Ian's first birthday went off without a hitch. After much hard work and planning by Elaina we got everything setup early Sunday morning. The monkey theme was a hit, with the individual monkey cakes the crowning touch.
The guests arrived around 10:30am and the kids all had a great time playing together. Much to Ian's delight there were presents. He sat with his mom and dutifully opened them all.
To top off the party Ian had his very own monkey cake. He ate with gusto, grabbing handfuls cake, finally plunging in face first.

Alaskan Pictures to Remember
Two small steps for Ian. One giant leap for his trouble making abilities.
Last night I came home and after playing with Ian for a while set him down on the ground to go play. Much to my surprise he did not sit down to play with his toys but took two steps over to Elaina who was standing near by! It won't be long before he's going to be
Ian recently turned six months old, and boy has he changed! He is now eating baby food, sitting up by himself, trying to crawl and even standing up unassisted.
Elaina took him to have his picture made just the other day. Check him out in action!
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
Well it appears that Ian got his first teeth over the Christmas break.
Check those chompers out!

A few weeks ago we went on a trip. I wasn't sure how it would go since I had never been on an airplane before, but I checked out the cockpit and everything them seemed in order. After take off all passengers kept commenting on how cute I was, which was really rather boring after a while, so I slept the rest of the trip.
Once we arrived in Hawaii I spent a lot of time with Mom and Grandma, just walking around enjoying the outdoors. We even went to the Hawaiian Cultural Center where the Hula dancers put on a show, just for me. I really liked it, a lot!
Dad arrived a few days later and then the fun really began. Not only did I have Mom, Dad and Grandma at my beck and call, but we did a whole bunch of things I had never done before.
First we went swimming in the hotel pool. It was little cold in the water, but still tons of fun. Floating on my back has got to be my favorite.
Then the very next day, we drove up to the north shore where Tammy, Scott and Hadley were staying. We got to spend the night in their bungalow on the beach and the next day we saw the surfers try to ride the really big waves. We thought it looked like so much fun that we decided to try it out for our selves when we got back to our hotel.
The other really interesting thing that I got to do in Hawaii was play in the sand. Talk about awesome! I got to sit in it, grab it, dig in it, I even tried to eat some of it (I don't recommend eating it, because it will make you cry). Next time we go, I'm definitely going to spend more time playing in the sand!
After that it was time to go home. I really didn't want to because it was so nice to be outside all the time and it's really just too cold at home to do that at this time of year. But I guess that's okay because Mom said that we will be sure to come back again soon.
Until my next exciting voyage,

One of our friends is a professional photographer here in Dallas. Being the great guy he is, he offered to have a photo-shoot for us as a baby gift. Here are a few of the good ones.
